This first session will have covered the basics including:
- how to tie in
- belaying
- setting up anchors for belays, top ropes and abseiling
- abseiling best practice
So we can go over these again for those who missed out (or have short memories).
We should have more time to look at self rescue including:
- leading protection
- escaping the system
- Z hoists
- ascending rope efficiently
Please note: this is not professional instruction, but guidance and help allowing people to practice what they have read in books or seen on line. More experience club members will offer advice and can demonstrate techniques enabling less experienced members to ask questions and gain understanding.
