There will be emails and a WhatsApp link sent to those who are booked about a week before the meet for more detailed organisation.Winter mountaineering and climbing based at Torridon Youth Hostel. As always with Scottish Winter, conditions and weather dictate what activities and objectives are suitable for any given day and depending on the experience, skills, fitness and ambition of the parties.
Members should sort out between themselves who has similar aims and plan accordingly. In addition to the local hills and crags, Skye, most of the North West Highlands and the Northern Cairngorms can be reached for day trips (involving early starts and finishes).
In addition to normal outdoor kit, those venturing out in winter conditions will need:
Ice axe and crampons and suitable boots for the crampons.
Knowledge of how to use ice axe and crampons.
As many pairs of gloves as they can get.
Some spare gloves.
Some spare socks to serve as mittens when all the gloves are wet.
