Description:
Meet at the Spyway Barn car park at the end of Durnford Drove, Langton Matravers, BH19 3HG. (Grid ref. SY997783) at 10 o'clock, Saturday morning.
The plan is to head down to Hedbury Quarry to practice abseiling, Prusiking, gear placement and anchor building and self-rescue techniques.
The forecast is dry for both days, so those that want to can camp at Tom's Field campsite in Langton (http://www.tomsfieldcamping.co.uk/), then on Sunday go to a suitable crag to put the techniques into practice. Saturday night will probably involve a visit to the Square and Compass in Worth!
You will need as a minimum: Harness and belay device. A helmet is strongly recommended.
If you want to come climbing on Sunday, you will also need rock shoes.
If you have any other equipment (Ropes, Prusik loops, trad. gear), bring it along.
Saturday will involve quite a lot of standing around, so bring warm clothes!
After the wet winter we've had, the path from the car park to the crag is likely to be muddy in places, so be sure to bring suitable footwear.
